As an integral part of the procurement team, you will be in charge of purchasing different goods to ensure an uninterrupted flow of robotic parts, accessories and items. You will be called upon to develop and manage commercial relations with suppliers and to negotiate and enforce the conditions related to purchases

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Purchase the required products while making sure to respect the necessary quantities to avoid excess inventory and stockouts;
  • Negotiate with existing suppliers, as well as new ones, the different conditions (price, payment terms, delivery) and ensure that they are satisfactory;
  • Check and adjust accordingly the retail prices of our products compared to the competition, while following the pre-established scales;
  • Contact the new pre-selected suppliers by e-mail, phone calls and video calls (other possible processes) to present the company and the advantages of selling their products on the RobotShop platform;
  • Proceed with account opening for new suppliers and maintain business relationships;
  • Analyzes certain data (delivery costs, minimum quantities/orders, sales, supplier quality) to contribute to the evaluation of suppliers and also to maximize the profitability of our purchases;
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction;
  • Any other related task.

Note : This position may, exceptionally, require travel for work.

Requested Skills

Education

  • College diploma in administration, operations or equivalent specialization;
  • Any professional, college or university degree in procurement or related field will be considered as an asset.

Experience

  • 2 to 3  years experience a purchasing environment;
  • 1 to 2 years of negotiation experience.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent observation skills for numbers (profit margins, billing etc);
  • Proficiency with computer tools and ability to navigate and use multiple applications or screens;
  • Knowledge of Google Mail /Docs an asset;
  • Any experience in procurement in the E-commerce industry will be considered as an asset;
  • Passion for buying and negotiating with the intention of building a long-term relationship with suppliers & manufacturers.
